First off, I should probably apologize for the break. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you’re caught up. Basically, I’ve been exhausted and sleeping a ton. 19 hours yesterday. And I only got up because construction started outside my place. Giant compactor; whole place was vibrating.
I think I’ve traced it to a new acne medication I’m on. The doc warned me it might make me sleepy but I suppose I was too tired to connect the two
(a friend pointed it out). My plan is to start taking it at night and see if that changes anything. Insta-sleeping pill.
Anyway, CONduit!
CONduit is featuring Brent Lundell (Brent2) at their convention this year. By featuring, I of course mean that I’m a miner panelist appearing in the middle of the last day of the convention. They’ve yet to recognize my true glory. That’s OK though. There’s still time.
I’ll be speaking two presentations. What is it, you might ask? It’s Utah’s largest Sci-Fi and fantasy convention. It spreads across writers, artists and paper based role playing games and features Michael Stackpole
, author the Star Wars: X-Wing Series
(one of my favorites) and Brandon Sanderson, who is taking over the Wheel of Time
for the late Robert Jordan.
So, why would they want a pop radio host?
I’ll be working with Brad Neufeld, a life long motivational speaker and spokesmen for Ocean Grown International. He’s an expert in human behavior and I’m an expert in geekiness™. I bring the fantasy side and help connect with the genre. We’ll be working off his 10 Mindsets of a Winner and 10 Things Every Kid Wants and translating them into something useful for a writer.
Wait, what are you presenting again?
10 Mindsets of Winning Villains
Every villain wants to win but not every writer can show them how.
Learn what makes your villain’s victory plausible to the reader.
10 Things All Heroes Want
Goals make the man. Your hero needs goals the reader can connect
with; can believe. From romance to respect, make your hero real.
And When?
Sunday, May 26th. 11 AM and 12 PM. Back to back, in the order above.
Can we come?
Well, yeah. Check the CONduit website for details. But I’ll also do my best to record the presentation and post it here on Brents In Boxers. No promises though (I don’t make the rules).

@Kloutier
I’m hoping to. I’ll need to get hold of some lapel mics, which I don’t usually keep around. Radio usually doesn’t need to hide the microphone.
I do have a line on them though. After that I’ll probably need to do some noise control and some tweaks. But that’s the fun part.
Well I’m excited to hear your presentation. Good luck!
