Hurley
By far, Shannon Hurley dominated this show. It happens sometimes, when one of us is stricken by an artist. This time it was Brent1. Next time it might be me. Maybe. I love Shannon’s sound though. It’s smooth, melodic and her vocal intros–especially those at the beginning of Garden Path
–are timed perfectly. Really, it’s amazing.
Podcasts
This week we’ll also be adding podcasts (found at the bottom of each show listing). They will be a 256K MP3 file and is twice the size as the version you can listen to directly off the site. Is the quality better? Well, yes and no. It’s all about how MP3 files work.
The first is crunching through my computer right now and I’ll be crunching out the rest over the next week. I’ll upload today’s tomorrow. Many thanks go out to Extruder for his patience.
[Update: ALL podcasts are now linked. iTunes comes later.]
The Tip
Finally we give our audio tip on mixing/mastering: Normalizing. We talk about what it is, how it’s absence will allow your competition to crush you and the simple tricks to look for.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackHonestly, I haven’t found a good podcast show that entertained me past 2 or 3 podcasts. I was listening to that funny ninja guy that was featured in iTunes for about a week. But that got old.
Brent1 loves that ninja guy! I thought it was a little entertaining myself but eventually I got a little drained by all the jump cuts.
Anyway, if you’re only going to hang around for 2 or 3, I’d suggest Elephant Evasion and Brents In SPACE!!!! They’re honestly the best ones and I still giggle inanely when I hear them.
