<itunes:summary>With hundreds of New Artist Radio’s talented artists to choose from, sometimes it can be a challenge to find the very best. Brent1 and Brent2 spend hours combing through every artist, looking for the best NAR has to offer, and love every minute of it. Why? Well, they’re weird like that. They bring it to you, mix it with a touch of useless trivia, a dash of comedy followed by the play button. [Check BrentsInBoxers.com for complete song lists.]</itunes:summary>

Featuring scenes from Star Journey and Space Battle, here comes Brents In Space!!!!!!! Much like our previous theme show (well, it’s sort of a theme show), we came up with everything off the cuff–with a few exceptions. Bringing down the “red shirts” was a given from the start and, well, the joke about the . . .Captain’s . . .Log. . . had to be in there too. Beyond that, we happily had the ship’s computer play us music. It’s apparently a giant MP3 player that’s good at blowing stuff up. I haven’t decided if it’s shaped like an iPod or Zen yet, but it’s been christened the Flagship Brent! Named after one of us. I’m voting for me.
Anyway, check out Richard X Heyman and Suzzane Dwillis (the Elastic Pick). Amazing music. I won’t call this our best show (I hate it when everyone’s newest show is their best) but I will call it #2. The Elephant Hunt is still #1.

I love Shannon’s sound though. It’s smooth, melodic and her vocal intros–especially those at the beginning of Garden Path–are timed perfectly. Really, it’s amazing.
Podcasts
This week we’ll also be adding podcasts (found at the bottom of each show listing). They will be a 256K MP3 file and is twice the size as the version you can listen to directly off the site. Is the quality better? Well, yes and no. It’s all about how MP3 files work.
The first is crunching through my computer right now and I’ll be crunching out the rest over the next week. I’ll upload today’s tomorrow. Many thanks go out to Extruder for his patience. [Update: ALL podcasts are now linked. iTunes comes later.]
The Tip
Finally we give our audio tip on mixing/mastering: Normalizing. We talk about what it is, how it’s absence will allow your competition to crush you and the simple tricks to look for.

Mostly new stuff, which I’m always hesitant about. I mean, our listeners have favorites and Brent and I do too. So tossing in a pile of new can make us nervous. Plus, we’re never sure if they’re going to be up on Amazon, which seems to be one of the most popular features here on BIB.
‘Course, we do have plenty of Soundtrack Mind, who we’ve played before, though not recently. And Josh comes back with my new favorite: Yeah.
Topping off the new, Matt Humphreys comes in. Pretty sure he was on American Idol, though he’s Canadian. Well, at least someone who looks just like him was on AI. Which is close enough, right? And Qua Ti Si with Cochise, which I had trouble pronouncing. You’ll enjoy that.
Last, we have our Elastic Pick from Mark Austin Band with Callin’ Out My Name. Very energetic with that deep, sexy, radio voice.

Naturally, we made some room for romantic songs as well. Adam Barta brings us 12 Hours, which we’ve heard before, and Baby I Should: Adam McGill.
Sadly, most of our songs aren’t up on Amazon yet. That’s OK; we love them anyway.
And, finally, Brent1 expands a little on his article on The State of the Music Business. If you’re an independent music artist, you won’t want to miss it.

We think. If you know what smexy is, you should e-mail us at Brent@BrentsInBoxers.com. More importantly though, if you think Brent1 is smexy (or not), tell us. It’s time for a vote. We’ll announce the results on next week’s show.
As for the music, well, Justine Blazer is new, along with Nick Forbes. Both are excellent vocalists with very different styles. They play off each other well. And, frankly, Rush Until Tomorrow White Dove. I’m a sucker for little jokes like that.
Ivory Tower Project, introduced last week, gets to start it all off. And if you thought they sounded like The NeverEnding Story SoundTrack before. . .

Unsurprisingly, we’ve included a few of our favorites. Always do. Sophie Pentecost, naturally, comes flying in, along with Josh. But there’s plenty of new to sink your teeth into. Ivory Tower Project is amazing, bringing me right back to the first time I watched The NeverEnding Story and 3 Kisses has that active pop sound that just plain makes you happy.
Topping it off is the Elastic Pick, Water Bottom Willy, performed by Emily Richards. You’ll remember her from Can’t Take It With You (Full CD), from a few shows back. Amazing. Water Bottom Willy has that happy jazz sound, with the hip swing you’d expect from something so, well, Pink Panther.
And, as always, you can listen to the show itself in the player below.

<itunes:subtitle>Well, we’re back from the Savannah and feeling mostly pretty good.
Unsurprisingly, we’ve included a few of our favorites. Always do. Sophie Pentecost, naturally, comes flying in, along with Josh. But there’s plenty of new to [...]</itunes:subtitle>

Without question, the Best BIB show ever. We were both on one. Frankly, it was hilarious. And when you consider that it was all ad-lib, I wonder how we’re going to top it. Of course, now that you know it’s ad-lib, you’ll probably catch the little mistakes if you go back through.
In any case, you’re more likely here to figure out what we played. I can understand that. So am I. Where possible, I’ve included links so you can get your own .mp3 copies. ‘Cause I like you. *wink*. Or, uh:
That makes more sense.
